is a carrier’s carrier in telecommunication network services. We provide a unique transport and access network to high-speed data transmission facilities to enable seamless intercity and cross border connectivity for global market solution.

In line with the rapid technological advancement globally and regionally, Fibrecomm is well-equipped to stand apart from its competitors. To date, our peninsula-wide and Sabah fibre optics backbone network spans over 110,000 fibre km, forming a unique transport and access network running on high-speed capacity of 10G/40G and 100G in the near future. With continuous network expansion, Fibrecomm is able to provide seamless intercity and cross border connectivity for global market solution. With these in place, Fibrecomm is poised to assist the nation to become the premier regional telecommunication hub.

Fibrecomm Network (M) Sdn Bhd was formed in 1992 as Celcom Advance Network Services to develop Malaysian fibre optic telecommunications network utilizing TNB’s electrical transmission lines and distribution infrastructure, becoming a licensed Network Facilities Provider (NFP)

Fibrecomm was initially owned as Celcom Advance Network Services Sdn Bhd and was incorporated on 21st May 1992. Then, changed its name to Fibre Communication Network (M) Sdn Bhd on 7th May 1996 and finally known as Fibrecomm Network (M) Sdn Bhd on 11th May 1999 until to date.

On May 21, 1992 the company was incorporated under the name Celcom Advance Network Services Sdn Bhd. In the mid-1990s, the company established as a joint venture between Celcom Transmission (M) Sdn Bhd (CTX) and Tenaga National Berhard (TNB). On February 4, 1997 a shareholder's agreement is signed by TNB, CTX and Malaysian Resource Corporation Berhad (MRCB). From there on, the ownership splits into TNB 59% and CTX 41%. On the year 2003, Telecom Malaysia (TM) re-acquires Celcom, making CTX a wholly-owned subsidiary of TM. March 18th 2005, TM announces that its subsidiary, CTX, has entered into a Heads of Agreement with TNB to acquire an additional 10% stake in Fibrecomm.


On April 29, 2005, a Share Sale Agreement is executed between TNB and CTX for the purchase of 7.5 million shares in Fibrecomm. On February 10th 2006, The deal is completed after regulatory approvals are secured. CTX acquires the additional 10% stake from TNB which changes the ownership structure to CTX(Telekom Malaysia) 51% and TNB 49%.

In the span of 2007-2008, as part of a major restructuring, TM demerges Celcom into a separate entity called TM International (later renamed Axiata Group). However, Fibrecomm remains under TM's direct ownership and as of now, Telekom Malaysia (TM) continues to hold its 51% majority stake in Fibrecomm, while Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) retains the remaining 49%.
